Werewolves (RP16) A Town Abandoned

Tucked away for the night under a ragingly dark sky, the werewolves of Reknab Bend were gathered at the home of Zeit Chandler once more...

Ulric was listening to the wind outside with a grimace. The glass in the windows of Zeit's cottage shuddered with every passing gust.

Under the sound of the wind, a siren wailed up from Reknab Bend. News came on the radio that the town was being evacuated. The cause was a sinkhole opening up on Mainstreet, revealing a little known fact about Reknab Bend: it was built over a gold mine. The forgotten history came forward just as Town Hall began to slip into the advancing sinkhole. Evidently, the town's founders had kept a dangerous secret. The town was built over the mine to cover it up. Now, old shafts, flooded from the recent rainfalls, had begun to collapse. The majority of the tunnels were unmapped on city surveys. The damage and danger to the town and it's civilians could not be estimated. So, City officials gave the evacuation order.

Yet, while Reknab Bend came to terms its history, another history of equal importance was coming to light in Zeit Chandler's cottage. The possession of an old chest promised answers to questions about the now extinct werewolves of Phantom Mountain.

In the kitchen, Logan had all four burners going on the gas stove, and had prepared the deer meat in various methods. Bianca had previously instructed her to make a small portion plain without seasonings, for Saber, and also to wash her hands between handling the different meals, and also to keep Saber's dish covered with a lid so it wouldn't be cross contaminated - and also, and also, and also.

Bianca was quite literally shoved out of the kitchen shortly after arriving to help.

Now the blonde sat in a chair and played with the strings of her hoodie, pulling the hood tight over her head and then loosening it all the way, repeating the pattern while staring dejectedly at nothing in particular. History was never her best subject, and she wasn't sure how a bunch of old dusty clippings would help the pack grow closer.

Logan meanwhile, had found canned beans, flour in a sealed container, canned tomatoes, among many other only slightly expired canned products that she was using to make up a dumpling goulash with seared, cubed deer meat.

The wailing of the siren outside was, for a moment, louder as the door opened. In came Kratos, and Jackie, too.
