Werewolves (RP15) The Waking Dawn

Bianca looked at Levi. Then the Alpha in the background. Back to Levi. A long look up and down, her ears back, then up again.

“You are litterally cowering.” She said, pointing a claw at Levi accusingly. “You’re his pack, he’s not going to hurt you..” now she crossed her arms and rested her weight on one hip, tail swaying behind her. “You never did answer my question from before-on how you met him.” A single brow was raised, expectation painted on Bianca’s face.

"Am I?" he asked, pinning back his ears and hunching a little lower. He took a moment of self reflection and realized she was right.

He looked at her and chuckled a bit. "Funny story, that... Y'see... I uh... I'm not really Calagrathorm. I dunno if I'm even supposed to be. I dunno much these past few months. Come from a pack in Ireland, called Sabres. Brina's from there too. She was s'posed to fix some problem here in the States, then turn tail and come right home again. But she didn't. So they sent me to find out what happened to her. And... Uh, that's how I met the Alpha. Anyways long story's short: Brina's da came down a wee bit ago to find out what happened to the both of us, had some sort o' word with Alpha Kratos', then left again and... Well we're still here. Tha's all I know."

Oh.”

The answer visibly disappointed Bianca.

“Sooo.. like… do you not want to be here? Or, are you literally too afraid to ask Kratos what the deal is and just make it official? Or are you still waiting to figure out why Sabrina is still here to make a decision? You can tell me..” she paused, then added, “If Kratos didn’t think you were one of his pack, I seriously think he’s capable of expressing himself. I cant speak for him- I just don’t think he’d tolerate you being here if he thought you weren’t committed. That would make you a threat.. and you don’t seem very threatening right now. No offense.”

Kratos turned toward the mountain, but he inclined his ear behind him before taking leave and gave pause.

"You two..." He said over his shoulder. "Be more discreet. We had visitors earlier. One of them was Svalnaglas. The hunters also are on the prowl. Our presence is noted and our land is watched. I would advise you, if you do not decide to save your strength, that you steer clear of the roads."

Levi smiled a sort of smile that looked very dopey on his wolfish face. "Not threatening is precisely the idea," he whispered.

Then the Alpha spoke, and he startled. Just a fraction. Would have looked like the skin twitched off an annoying fly. But it had definitely been a startle.

"I, uh, I think he wants us to shift," he said, still whispering.

“Yes, sir.” She called out over Levi’s shoulder towards Kratos. “Ya think he heard us?” she laughed - cringed inwardly - and rolled her eyes at herself, changing forms. Her blonde hair had fallen out of the ponytail and she sighed.

“Jackie looked good with short hair.. maybe I’ll cut mine.” She put it back up. “Oh, speaking of which.” Now in the fields she could see Jackie and Logan, and squinted her eyes to see the deer Logan was carrying.

“Lord.. I thought they killed someone for a sec.”

Levi shifted, and tightened his belt for what felt like the third time today. The material was slackening... He'd need a new one soon. He looked over at Bianca. Wanted to say something like how her hair looked nice. Then she said something about murder, and he flipped around to see Jackie and Logan and the deer.

He swallowed hard. "Well, at least it weren't each other."

He'd been pretty sure that was coming when she and Logan set out, and someone had thrown someone else, or something. He'd been paying perhaps a bit too much attention to Timothy, like a firecracker waiting to go off at the first spark of violence, to really pay attention to what their dispute had been about.

“They’re uh, pretty intense…” she trailed off, more need not be said.

“So you don’t think you’ll stay?..” she was walking towards Zeit’s cottage now.

The siren was more annoying than anything.

”Not even for Chime and Theo?”

Levi shrugged. "I dunno," he said. "I mean... I do miss home. Been feeling like I'm in over my head since I first landed in the States, if I'm bein' honest. But, as I said, my Alpha came and left and he dinnae take me with him. So I dunno. Jus' sort o' untethered, as yet."

He shivered as the breeze began to pick up. "And from what I've seen, that means I fit into this pack just fine. Everyone's untethered here."

Bianca noticed as he trembled. She hadnt seen him wear a shirt at all any time recently, but it was starting to get cold.

”I have some baggy graphic tee shirts I wear to bed… when we get back to the cabins remind me to get you a couple.”

Bianca contemplated what he said a moment. Never a long one, but occasionally she thought before responding.

”I’m starting to learn nobodies been here long. The ones that have… well… Sabrina? Are never around… I’m worried. About the people here, and about Kratos.. he may be built like a fortress but he’s not made out of stone. It has to be hard.”

Now she wondered about the unfriendly visitors, the weight of Kratos’ words sinking in. Hunters prowling, Svalnaglas.. maybe the mountains weren’t so bad.
