Werewolves (RP15) The Waking Dawn
Quote from Adriana on March 18, 2023, 8:42 pmLogan said nothing in response, nonetheless was thankful for the misdirection Ulric had provided. She spat into the field as they walked and held her head and shoulders high as if nothing had happened.
Zeit’s house was only a little ways off. The old log cabin, once a beacon of warmth and welcoming, looked so small and decrepit compared to the cabins. The yard was unkempt and the fences are worn from the storms. Zeit’s return would provide a good deal of work, a happy thought in Logan’s mind.
When the front door was in sight she paused and gestured for Ulric to go ahead. She would wait outside, already there were too many inside and she was in no mood for small talk.

Quote from Deleted user on March 19, 2023, 12:26 amEven with his sister's question, the boy's gaze never left the alpha. He soundlessly held up a finger to his lips to indicate to not speak, and then gave the slightest motion of his head as a reply.
Despite the alpha's eyes having found the direction of the boys, his gaze did not falter. The alpha spoke, and the boy did not flinch. He stayed still where he was, as sturdy as the trees around him. With his dark hair, dark eyes and darker skin, he blended in with the woods as if he was apart of nature itself.
—
Samantha tried to catch the boys reply. She watched him carefully, but his movement was ever so slight and barely noticeable, she found it hard not to miss it most of the time. It looked like it was... Yeah. ...No matter how hard she tried to watch him, she really wasn't sure what he said.
Then the alpha's voice was heard, and she jumped. Her heart was pounding loudly in her ears now. Had they been discovered? The boy hadn't budged which gave her hope they hadn't, but the man's words seemed to suggest otherwise. She tried to remain calm as she now watched the boy carefully for any signal of what she was to do.

Quote from Mae on March 27, 2023, 12:58 amUlric left Logan's side at her request and went in. The sight that greeted him inside was quite characteristic of good old times that seemed a million years away now; Zeit, staring Jackie down, while Jackie, quite knowledgeable of her faults, pretended they didn't exist. But there was Zeit! Unlike Jackie she was well groomed. Though her appearance had changed somewhat, she was the same beautiful young farmer and stern werewolf beta all in one.
"Jackie, those cookies must be months old." Ulric said, good naturedly.
Ulric was likewise not quite as Zeit had last seen him. Though he always seemed to have an air beyond his years, now it appeared that experience had changed him a bit. He had grown taller and his hair was longer, and he was a fair bit more bruised. His arm was wrapped in bandages, as was his forehead, and his amber eyes were still a bit cloudy from his recent adventures. Nonetheless, he wore a smile over it all, and was the better for it.

Kratos stared hard into the wood. When no answer came, he stepped down into the water.
"Trust me. It is more dangerous for you to remain secretive than for you to come out." He said. "You are trespassing. By the rights and laws of this land, I am authorized to remove you. And by the rights and laws of my kind I am authorized to do much worse."
Kratos stood in the water, staring into the forest. "I will tell you again to come out, or I will come and find you."

Quote from Deleted user on March 27, 2023, 9:00 amSamantha was beginning to shake. She realized now that the boy remained where he was because he did not believe that they could outrun the big werewolf- and it must've in fact been the big werewolf they were dealing with. She desperately wanted to speak and ask the boy what his plan was, but knew any more sound would only serve to help the big werewolf find them faster. So she grabbed a hold of the boys arm with her shaking hand, as tears welled up in her eyes.
___
The boy had remained still despite the alpha's words. Then he felt his sisters touch, and his stare broke.
He turned and saw Samantha's face and little body shaking, and his eyes softened. He slowly pulled her into a hug as she began to cry quiet whimpers into his chest. He held her tightly. His eyes scanned the forest that stretched upward behind them, listening. Then his gaze was soon drawn back to the alpha, watching the man with all his senses.

Quote from Kaqurei on March 27, 2023, 11:46 pmLevi froze. His mind went completely blank. He stiffened. Then relaxed, and as he relaxed, his body shifted from wolf to man, his sitting position from on his haunches to cross-legged with his hands in his lap. He'd always done so seamlessly. Like it was as easy an natural a thing to do as breathing. Like he was made of light and air instead of flesh and bone. Black hair melted into white skin, yellow eyes swirled with blue and then green. His bruises remained, but he could at least open the one eye now, a bit.
But talking about his mother, ah, there his tongue felt tied. "She were distant too," he managed quietly. "Different from Da. She was always there. We lived a quiet life, me and mum, out in the country. Away from troubles. Still, sometimes troubles find you, just the same."
He jumped a bit, when Sabrina opened the door and stepped out on to the porch. Averted his eyes from her, as if hoping by doing so she wouldn't look in his direction. And she didn't. She didn't stop on the porch to look at either of them. Nor did she go around back to her garden like she had told Saber she would, but continued at a steady pace towards the forest.

Quote from Adriana on March 28, 2023, 2:58 pmBianca noted Levi's comfort, reeling internally, and deciding to leave the subject at that. Leaning on the broom, she watched Sabrina go into the forest-seemingly having her mind determined on something. She slowly blinked her blue eyes and yawned.
Her eyes drifted to the pit. It hadn't been that long since Timothy and Jackie had been confined to it-it was one of her first days on the campgrounds after Timothy had attacked Tammy in town.
Hopefully Kratos didn't have much use for it these days. Timothy was the most feral but even with him, the idea of a pit seemed barbaric at best. There must have been a drain in the bottom because it didn't seem to hold any standing water, even after the recent storms.
"Hey, don't stick around just for me. I'm going to try to get these places cleaned up. Not that I've figured out what you guys do, ya know, between the hunters and mafia and everything else.."

Quote from Mae on March 31, 2023, 8:11 pmThe intruder were silent, but the wind was not. Kratos surveyed the rattling pines overhead and the trembling birches. The weedy bushes were agitated, like they knew the storm wasn't through. The stream seemed to have picked up it's pace as well.
Kratos looked again in the direction he knew the stranger was hiding.
"One more time..." He said. "Come out."

Quote from Adriana on April 1, 2023, 4:05 pmLogan watched Ulric go. No more inclined to follow than she was moments ago, she began to walk away in the direction of the apple orchard.
The horse corrals were overgrown and the pasteurs had more grass than the cattle could manage, wherever they had gotten off to. It came up past Logans hip in places. Zeit’s ranch spanned a greater length of land than the camp grounds.
There was a lot to consider, and it was best considered in quiet contemplation.

Quote from Deleted user on April 4, 2023, 12:02 amThe wind blew through the boys dark messy hair, leaving it swayed to one side. With the wind blowing, they had some sound cover.
The boy pulled the girl away from him and pointed the direction for her to head. Staying behind the bushes and trees, they moved quietly, she infront and him. The two slowly moved away from the alpha, but still the boys dark eyes were constantly glancing over towards the man's large figure off in the distance, watching.
___
Samantha's heart felt like it might explode out of her chest. She couldn't think much beyond being as quiet as possible, crawling forward one step at a time, but every sound she made felt like that of an exposition.
Scared that he would disappear, she kept looking back at the boy to check that he was still behind her, often finding him staring just barely over the bushes to catch a glimpse of the man after them. His eyes were filled with that sharp intense focus again, he always looked more animal to her than human when he was like this, it usually it scared her. But today, she didn't care. She just wanted to get out of this alive.
So she kept going, slowly, one shaking hand after the other. She glanced ahead every now and then to chart her course appropriately, making sure she stayed where there was cover blocking her and the direction of the big werewolf as she continued forward.

Quote from Mae on April 4, 2023, 5:47 pmKratos leveled his eyes when no answer came. Again he considered the creaking, bowing branches, the storm rapidly brewing over the peak, and the water moving ever swifter, ever higher past his legs... To turn to the mountain in these conditions was ill fated. But the stranger's lack of scent told the Alpha that he had already encountered the Phantom Herb once. If he also knew how to use it than he was a greater danger left on the mountain.
Kratos could not trust that an enemy today would not be a worse enemy tomorrow, especially one that went unseen and unscented. Thus, he took up the hunt. Moving slowly at first, he climbed the bank of the river into the woods on the other side. Then he bowed low in the brush and searched the ground for sign of passage. Moist, wet earth would keep no secrets from him.
