Werewolves (RP15) The Waking Dawn
Quote from Adriana on September 3, 2022, 12:41 pmLogan watched as Jackie had gone up ahead. Nonetheless she continued slowly and steadily. She thought about it for a time.
“Yes. I thought it was her fur. It was like.. a spot under one eye and, this kind of shape,” she made an “L” with her right forefinger and thumb, and put it in front of her nose.
“She was not old but she was older..”

Quote from Mae on September 8, 2022, 12:46 am"Eva..." Ulric said her name without realizing he did it.
Almost four months ago, Ulric learned a secret; a heavy secret that burned at the back of his mind though he dared not utter it. Was now the right time and place to reveal it? And if not now, would there ever be another chance? Ulric looked solemnly at the ground, then lifted his chin and furrowed his brow ahead.
"Logan... " He said, hesitantly. "Do you remember any of the others that showed up that day?"

Quote from Adriana on September 8, 2022, 2:05 amEva.
Enemy or not, she had rescued Logan. Logan was grateful to put a name to the mysterious savior.
Ulric asked another question, and again the woman took the time to contemplate it. She had never seen her original attacker, nor could she recall nearly any of the events that ocurred after swatting the strange insect off the back of her neck.
Everything that happened after was a blurry red haze of garbled voices, nausea and overwhelming pain, accompanied by the sound of constant growing and snarling. When it finally subsided, Ulric was walking away with another, but she only saw his back. There was a single unique detail she recalled.
“Eh… there was one other there that I saw, from behind only. He was leading you to the car. He was black and large, his tail was short. I thought if it was always that way, like mine.”

Quote from HourGlass on September 28, 2022, 8:33 pmZeit didn't comment on Toby's aide, just thankful to have it. She knew she hadn't made the best impression on him, well on a lot of the pack members... So she wanted to try and get on better with them. Though, this was still her farm and she would protect it and those she deemed family with everything she had.
With a bit of effort, they managed to get the decently sized chest out in the living room, Zeit about to thank Toby when she froze. Someone else was in her home, and that someone was in her tins.
"Thank you Toby, leave it here," she said quickly, trying not to just drop the chest and let the boy handle it, but she needed to deal with the intruder now. She let out a growl, heading right for the kitchen, teeth bared as she confronted the being. "And what the hell do you think your doing?!" she snapped.

Quote from Indy on October 12, 2022, 9:16 pmThe creature that regarded her was a face Zeit knew very well, although perhaps with some subtle differences. Her copper hair was cropped short above her chest and appeared recently untangled, rather than a wild unruly mane. Her clothes, a simple pair of jeans, a tank, and a hoodie, appeared relatively ordered. Certainly, however, Jackie was not a person Zeit had spent much time missing at all in her absence.
Guiltily, Jackie's eyes flashed upwards in just the same way a dog's might when it knew it had done bad but not having the slightest clue as to what end. She still clutched a cookie in her hands, and several crumbs were scattered about. It was unclear how many she had eaten, but there couldn't be as many as Zeit might have hoped were left.
Yet most curiously of all was her lack of scent. Until her eyes had confirmed it, Jackie hadn't seemed to exist at all.
"I missed you too Zeit," she finished the cookie in her palms in a bite, assuming it wouldn't further tarnish her reputation in the woman's eyes, "How was your little vacation?"

Quote from Mae on October 12, 2022, 11:51 pmUlric was careful but honest in his reply. "He thinks that you are his daughter." He said. "And Eva, I believe, was watching after you in the mountains."

Timothy stood in the yard until he was the only one who remained outside the twin cabins. Then, he crouched on the gravel and thoughtfully picked up two rough stones. He turned them in his hand. The two stones lightly scratched each other, then rested quietly in his palm. Four of his fingers curled over the stones. The last finger, of course, was absent.
Timothy looked at the cabin out the corner of his eye. Then, he looked down the road...

Quote from Adriana on October 13, 2022, 3:26 pm"That does not-" Logan stopped herself. Her knee jerk reaction was to respond to such an outlandish theory with denial and even irritation. Coming from anyone else they may have been met thusly. Coming from Ulric, however, Logan found herself pausing to rephrase her response.
"Jackie and you could not be the only one with a confusing story.." she slowed to a stop in her stride, her hands in her pockets - Zeit's house was only a little ways further. But right now it was quiet. The only sound was a crisp wind rustling through the overgrown grass of the fields surrounding them. She knew inside the cabin ahead, by the scents, another story had already begun to unfold.
She was contemplative for a moment. "The spy knew of me and from where I came. Certainly he speaks with his allies, so maybe it is true that they do know something. Is it important from where the seed of a tree comes? I do not think it matters as much as where it falls."

Quote from Cat on October 25, 2022, 3:59 pmToby noticed Zeit's hasty exit, and heard her angrily demand what someone was doing. He knew she couldn't be talking to Kratos like that, who else was here? Toby left the chest laying forgotten where they'd both set it and followed Zeit. However, upon coming up behind her and viewing the person she spoke to, Toby's face blanched and his his body went cold: It was demon Jackie!!
He ducked quickly back behind the corner and prayed she hadn't seen him.

Quote from Mae on November 5, 2022, 2:58 pmUlric considered Logan's words. His amber eyes drifted yonder to the old apple orchard on the hill. No doubt in their overzealous and under-picked condition, the apple trees on the edge of the orchard cast their apples off the side of the hill and sent them rolling to unknown locations below. Was it fair to assume, then, that apple trees would be growing at the base of the hill as well as the top? Ulric looked for curiosity, and though his eyes were still not fully healed, nor was he ever very good at seeing in the dark or at distances, he thought he saw short trees and shrubs indeed growing in the shadow of the hill.
"It's important to them." Ulric replied. At length, having walked quietly on with his hands tucked in his pockets and his shoes scuffling the gravel, he spoke with gentle confidence. "If they believe that you are theirs, then they cannot hurt you without breaking their oath."

Quote from Adriana on November 13, 2022, 6:51 pmLogan watched Ulric as he spoke, following his gaze briefly to the apple orchard before connecting her eyes back to his face. The breeze lapped at her raven black locks. Her eyes narrowed.
"I have made no such promise to them."
She rolled her shoulders, then remembered the wound on her left shoulder - then something dawned on her.
"I was not a werewolf until I was bitten. It cannot be."
Then a familiar scent wafted through. "Is that..." she breathed the air again, "It is Zeit?"
