Jackie puckered her lips and made a faint popping sound. The game had been ruined. She wanted a victory, a loss even over this, but when her opponent forfeit the game before it started. It was as though Logan was winning in some better way. She didn't care what Logan said; refusing these games against her must only mean she thought she was too weak to even play against.

She exhaled a harsh stream of air like an angered bull, momentarily missing the subtle leading glance and the crackle of underbrush. The anger fell away, not forgotten, but stowed away as curiousity took it's stead. Following Logan's glance, she took the opposing path. At first her steps were careless and loud, yet became quieter as she progressed. Her path was widening, veering, looping around as her gaze narrowed steadily ahead on the unknown prize.

Mae

As Logan and Jackie made their way forward, enclosing their prey from opposite directions, it became apparent that their target was very large. It's breathing could be heard loudly the closer they came. Weeds were being broken - the smell of damaged foliage and musk met the air. Through the leaves and branches the brown side of the beast was seen, then all at once there is was - a massive brown head with streaks of white appearing in its black eyes! The bison cow jolted and bellowed with surprise!

Logan jumped back with wide eyes, and made no slow movement to clear from the bison's path! Even when it didn't move, she stood frozen in place, her chest steadily rising and falling.

An irritated noise escaped the back of Jackie's throat as Logan jerked -- although maybe there was something smug in it too. Contrary to her companion she stayed where she was, although had wisely not progressed any further. She crouched slightly, her hands sinking down, as though to make herself somewhat smaller to the already startled bison.

"Shhh, come on girl, we won't hurt you," she took one slow sidestep backwards so as to be out of it's direct rampaging path, "Logan is just a chicken.... don't be offended, okay?".

Addie

Logan glared towards Jackie briefly and continued to watch the beast from a short distance, still poised to move quickly should there be any further cause for alarm.

"Jackie..." she uttered in a cautious tone, "Lets go..."

Indy

Jackie considered that but still without shifting her glance away from the beast's front hooves. There wasn't a tremble to be found on her; even her breathing was so steady, she seemed scarcely more than a statue. When she did move, it was the slightest shake of her head, firmly indicating her answer to Logan.

Her voice come out low, soft, and slow as one one might sooth a child or a small puppy, "Shhh, ma petite, elle n'a pas l'air de malice. Elle ne comprend pas votre beautée. Mais, je le comprend bien. Peut-être nous pouvons nous comprendre?"

Addie

"It is a beast, Jackie.. it cannot hear you. Why are you a such fool?" she huffed, her shoulders dropping. She took a few more steps back and cautiously turning around, began into the woods again with an audible sigh. In her frustration, she stuck the blade of her knife into a tree and withdrew it again in passing, calling out over her shoulder,

"I am going to hunt deer, join me if you remember, the cow cannot speak with you."

The woman turned around and leaned on her rifle. "You don't know?" she asked, genuinely surprised. "Then you're not here for...? Oh." She mulled that one over for a moment. Then she looked at Kratos and her expression soured again. "Then what are you here for?" she asked, her voice pickled in suspicion.

Bianca's ears perked up at Sabrina's response, and twitched backwards somewhat as she narrowed her brow on the woman. Now her own gaze was far off as she looked straight ahead, considering.

"I'm sorry," Bianca said, standing, "I mean-I didn't mean to ruin your... meditation." she continued, "But thank you, for sharing." she added, climbing off of the rock. She looked solemnly towards the dirt for a moment, before a long yawn caught her off guard and her head was tilted towards the peak of the mountain. She wondered where the boys were by now...

"I'd love to join you, Theo, but last time we did that something terrible happened." Toby said curtly. His words followed by a loud click and another zap, then silence. After several minutes, Toby's face appeared around the side on the tree, his expression was a mix of embarrassment, regret and anxiety. "I'm sorry, Theo. I didn't mean for that to come out as harsh as it did." He said, "I'll come on a walk with you. It'll be a good chance to test these."

Toby stood and stepped out from his tall, grassy thicket, extending out his hand to show Theo the small devices resting on his palm: They were wireless one-piece earphone communicators as described by Toby. "These are going to help us stay in touch without howling our hearts out across the mountains and alerting every wolf-speaking monkey within the radius of what we're planning... But I need a head count. How many people do we actually have in the pack?"
