The Flower Maiden's Revenge (SP-RP 12)
Quote from Mae on April 2, 2020, 5:08 amJust at the moment when the matter was most desperate, and Theo still stood frozen in inaction - a cry sounded sharp and shriek! A human being - a girl - darted out of the wood as swift as a bird, flying to the spear which held Levi fast!
Abruptly the painted warrior twisted his body to thrust the small figure away with the blunt end of his spear. In so-doing he deprived himself of the stability of the tree behind him and fell! Toppling to the ground, he thrust himself free, lest the werewolf turn like a venomous snake on him and retaliate. Yet, in the next moment he was on his feet again - leaves flying red in all directions as he poised himself between the werewolf and the girl. The sharp end of his spear pointed outward.
"Get out of here!" He yelled at the girl.
"No!!" The girl cried out. She had been thrown to the ground by the man's spear, and now, casting aside the long brown locks of hair from her face, she was revealed. It was Tammy!
"Don't hurt them, Joshua!" She cried desperately. Though her identity was unmistakable, Tammy was not as the werewolves saw her last. She was clothed in leather and furs like the painted warrior, though not as scantily. Thick brown braids crowned her head in the absence of the cap she always wore. She wore a long leather garb about her waist, the length of a skirt, etched in fine design at the hem and where it opened in the front. Various layers of wool and weave covered her knees and arms. Her feet and her hands were covered by fur bound in leather."Leave!" The man yelled again. "This is your fault! You should've listened to me!"
"NO!" Tammy scrambled up from behind him and ran in front of Levi, exposing her back to him - much to the man's anger and alarm! She spread her arms wide, blocking the man's spear.
"I won't let you kill them!"

Quote from Indy on April 2, 2020, 10:35 pm"Tammy?" Theo blinked, the mental stalemate shattered.
He blinked again. It was really her. His heart quivered in his chest, though for what he didn't know. Was he happy to see her or scared she was here at all? Did she even recognize him?
He flinched, catching sight of her stepping between the bare-chested man and Levi. He couldn't miss the tone in the bare-chested man's voice, or the spear pointed decidedly at her
"Tammy, step away from him!" he cried out, suddenly taking a step forward before better wisdom could rule against it.

Quote from Kaqurei on April 10, 2020, 9:16 pmLevi looked between the girl and his attacker, hunched over and panting hard to regain his breath. He meant to show he meant no harm, and with Tammy's back to him all the more so, so he swiftly shifted from wolf to human form and raised his hands. "We dinae mean to cause a ruckus," he gasped, still looking uncertain at the one Tammy had called Joshua. Having a name made him appear more human, painted and all. Levi coughed, his throat hoarse from having been choked, but he managed to sputter, "We're lost. I s-saw yer fire an' thought..."
But he trailed off, not really sure what he thought.

Quote from Mae on April 14, 2020, 4:45 amThe painted warrior stood spear in hand, breathing hard. Tammy kept her arms wide open refusing to yield. Neither one said anything. With the beat of their hearts hotter than fire, and the gaze of their eyes colder than ice, they neither contended nor moved.
Then the young warrior shouted suddenly. "Get out of the way, Tammy!"
"No!" Tammy answered, resolved.
The warrior's face glowed red and Tammy's cheeks flushed white. Great wet drops beaded on the warrior's brow. He tightened his hands on his spear, and aimed the point at the girl's heart.
Tammy cast such a brief and passionate glance at Theo that the meaning could not be mistaken. "Don't move." She pleaded and commanded in that glance, but she said nothing.
"υοτηόνα ςόνε ηρόk.." The warrior said in a strange language. He had begun to tremble with wrath.
Tammy also trembled. Her hands were shaking and the layers of wool over her knees fluttered like quail feathers. She held her ground and let neither the warrior nor Theo advance, prepared to take a step between them if either should move.
Then, suddenly the spear was cast! Tammy winced as it pierced the ground between her feet, entirely embedding its three inch steel head in the ground. The shaft protruded toward the warrior from her feet..
In an instant, a fire lit in Tammy's eyes and her trembling ceased. She stomped her foot, and with vehemence yelled clear and shrill! Speaking in the same language the warrior spoke a moment ago, she shouting at him furiously! The warrior was went rigid and teetered off his stiff knees before he began to shout back. His limbs soon vibrated with anger. Then, he fled into the woods without a glance behind him, and vanished among the trees.
Tammy was so relieved to see him go that her strength nearly gave out. She stumbled forward. Her limbs began to tremble again, this time violently. She almost fell, but she grabbed the spear before she could. The spear, having been rooted with passion, did not budge as she braced herself on it.
"Come on..." Tammy said. She looked at the two werewolves. Then, between short breaths she said, "He's gone to get others. .. .. We need to go."

Quote from Kaqurei on April 25, 2020, 11:42 am"Who is he?" Levi couldn't help but ask. And, looking her up and down, "Who are you?"
This was not the first time she'd come to their rescue, and he remembered when she'd been taken to the cabin - but who she was and why she wanted to help them was still a mystery to him.
Hm. Others. Gotta go. Go where?
"We're lost," he said again, fumbling on the high of adrenaline, "Are we still on Phantom Mountain, d'yeh know? Where d'we go from here?"

Quote from Aim on May 12, 2020, 3:41 amChime breathed heavily, quickly leaning on an aspen tree before looking over the scene. Breathing a sigh of a relief, she was happy to see both Levi and Theo both very much alive. Looking at the tribal woman, she found herself puzzled a minute, though was quick to recognize her. It was Tammy!
Taking a step towards them, she winced before taking another.
Despite having made it out of the uneven terrain with only scratches, as she fled towards the scene, she tripped. Which in turn caused her ankle to swell, or perhaps that was caused when she refused to rest it, and pushed on despite the pain.
"Is everyone alright?" Chime asked, watching carefully as she tried to piece together what had happened here, and what the next course of action was.

Quote from Mae on May 12, 2020, 5:48 amTammy looked at Chime, standing on her twisted ankle. Her brows turned up with sympathy. By now she had regained her own strength, and stepped forward, though she still trembled at her edges.
"We just have to get away from here." She said, answering Levi. "He's my cousin. And he'll bring others - members of my family. They won't want to meet you."
Tammy reached out and offered a hand to Chime, helping her off the tree. The girls led the way. Tammy beckoned the bewildered boys to follow. They couldn't go far, much to her dismay. She brought them down to the meadow, and set Chime down by a small unseen stream crossing through the tall grasses.
As always, Tammy had her little satchel strapped over her shoulder. Somehow, even after being knocked down she had not lost it. She opened it, and took a small cloth out. She dipped the cloth in the cold stream and gently tended to Chime's poor ankle.
"I'm really sorry," Tammy said, after a short while. "There's a lot of confusion I could've prevented if I'd only told you. There's so many secrets."
She said, "I need to tell you now, while you're here. I don't know if I'll get another chance."Tammy sat down by the stream facing the werewolves. Her soft dark eyes did not look up. She placed her hands in her lap and held her fingers tightly.
"I need to tell you a story."

Quote from Indy on May 12, 2020, 10:17 pmTheo felt relief blush his cheeks as he saw Chime, holding a breath he hadn't known he was holding. For a moment misery took a small shuffle to the side. Then he saw her ankle and he felt himself wince... But he knew Tammy could make swift work of any injury. He swallowed his unease of the barechested man - though not before imagining an entire army of them marching through Phantom Mountains looking for lost, soggy werewolves - and followed Tammy onwards.
As Tammy paused by the stream, Theo was all too grateful to rest. His body was tired from the night's abuse, if not from exhaustion then surely in the range of emotions that had been exacted of him. His eyes seemed to develop a pleasant, lizard-like film, until he heard Tammy's final word - and then he was awake once more.
As he'd done a thousand times before, he sat down at the stream cross-legged at the stream, attentive ears waiting for her tale.

Quote from Kaqurei on May 19, 2020, 12:04 pmLevi rubbed his aching throat, sure it'd been bruised in his confrontation. If he'd been human with that stick pressed so tight against his larynx, he might've broken his neck. He blinked, noticing Chime's approach and now Theo for the first time. He wasn't sure when they'd followed, and he wasn't sure he was glad they did, as they might've been hurt too if Tammy hadn't arrived.
But there wasn't much time to process that. Tammy led them ahead--and Levi noticed with a wince Chime's limp. He ducked his head, feeling responsibility for all this now. He'd been the one to lead Chime out for stealth practice, didn't notice the approaching storm until it was upon them, and now led them right into the camp of an angry wild man... and tribe. Wait, Tammy was related to these people?
He plopped himself on the ground with a light sound that was part sigh, part groan from how sore he was, and waited to hear what Tammy would say.

Quote from Mae on July 7, 2020, 6:47 amAs Tammy sat crossed legged on the bank of the stream, with her hands clasped tightly together, and the white stalks of wheat swaying over her brown head, a noise could be heard faraway. It was a moving; a goings-on somewhere in nature, as if something unseen were stirring, though it were moving all along and only now could be heard. It was the world continuing, while Tammy and the werewolves sat still.
At last, Tammy lifted her eyes, and the colors of the world seemed brighter for it.
"Please listen very carefully," Tammy said, "Because our stories are important to us, they cannot be shared with anyone else, unless we share them."..........
