Just a ditch t'pitch yeh into if you get up to too much mischief. Though, a pair of Svalnaglas hold residency there tonight, so not sure what the Alpha's gonna do with the unruly ones he catches. Maybe he'll just sit on 'em. That'd teach 'em proper, yeah?"
It was an attempt at humor, though the tremor of fear could still be detected slightly in his voice or the catch of his breath.

Quote from Adriana on January 6, 2025, 7:27 pmChapman didn’t know what Scout did or didn’t know about the Calagathorm, but if the adrenalin addled Sabre’s boy kept prattling on, he‘d have the whole picture before long.
“You saved my skin. Both of you. Thank you.” he said, sincerely, but his intention was to put the young man at ease and derail the anxious information spill. He bit back against the pain of the bullets lodged in his back, and withheld the tremble in his voice as well as he might.
”How far?”

Quote from Mae on January 7, 2025, 12:21 am"A bad day for a cop not wearing a gun. I'm surprised you didn't pop him off as quick as old Al was willing to pop you." Scout spoke in a good natured tone.
"It'll be a couple of miles or so, lads... If we can find our way through, we'll get ya some help in good time, yet." Finding the way would take it's own time, going without sight or scent. Scout was feeling his way forward with one paw held out in front of him, and the other supporting old Bob.
"So, lad," he said, "That's you be smelling of that mountain perfume, then. Careful with it. Lots of stories about that, you know. It's not always been our friend on this mountain..."

Quote from Adriana on January 7, 2025, 3:46 pmChapman said nothing, as his eyes trailed to his right hip where his firearm rested (opposite of Scout).
No matter how lighthearted, “popping off” a man was not in his itenerary. Ballistics markings were easy to trace, and how would the Chief of police begin to explain how a situation could arise to put him in a position to shoot Al? Besides that, it violated his oaths to protect and serve. Now, he would certainly do what he must to protect others, but death was always a last resort.
Maybe if Chapman weren’t so intimately involved with the process of ensuring werewolf on human attacks weren’t publicized, or if he was in any other line of work, but his unique perspective provided insight that complicated his position.
Now he listened behind him, for the young fellows response regarding the phantom herb.

Quote from Kaqurei on January 7, 2025, 4:51 pmBut Levi was quiet now, his direct questions having gone unanswered twice now and his joke raising not so much as a chuckle, he felt it best to keep his mouth shut and his ears open until specifically invited to speak again.
Seemed Scout was familiar with the herb, but Levi still wasn't sure he quite answered whether he was from the Sabres pack or not. If he was, it would make sense. His own alpha had not been in the least bit surprised to learn about the herb when Levi told him of it, and he got the sense Sabrina's father had known it was out there before Levi ever discovered it. He wondered then if he actually had been the last to know.
