Afterthought (Silas, Tiffany, & Ionone)
Quote from Mae on August 6, 2019, 4:40 pm"Then who told you about the drop-off?"
The woman watched Silas from behind, turning herself around, but still casually leaned on the car.

Quote from Adriana on August 6, 2019, 6:10 pm"I'm more interested in who intercepted your call." I responded, slipping outside. I looked around the field and looked for anything that hadn't been there before, then decided that my time at this location was almost spent.
Why was there another werewolf looking for Harvey's hunting location? I glanced briefly over my shoulder to see if she had followed, and regardless, began to leave in the direction that I came.

Quote from Indy on August 6, 2019, 8:24 pmNothing was to be seen by the doorway besides the sway of grain and grass. Yet as Silas’s gaze had passed over the darkness of the garage to the entryway, it seemed as though something had shifted,if only for a moment. Nothing more could be confirmed; the moment anything strange would have been noted, it would have been gone, as if it hadn’t been anything more than a trick of the lighting and of the eyes…
Then he turned to leave.
And perhaps now it might be noted that not everything was as it had been. Had Silas a keen eye, he may have observed a squashed, rusty bucket just outside. There was little to have been said of the life story of the bucket; perhaps once it had been used to hold tools, or water, or oil. Perhaps all of those, judging by the sad dents and strange, dark stains and meaningful layer of rust. The large, squashed nature at the top suggested at one time, it had been run over by a car. No, what was to note was that the bucket was where it shouldn’t be.
And that was right in the way of Silas’ shoe. If he noticed quickly enough, then certainly he could avoid it.. although if he had not, then such an object in his path would be of great inconvenience.

Quote from Mae on August 7, 2019, 4:44 pmThe woman scoffed and leaned off the old sedan. She followed Silas with a leisurely stride.
"You're either playing coy with me, or you're really as tired as that pretty face lets on. I've heard a lot of things about you, everyone's been talking. They say you're an information specialist, isn't that right?"

Quote from Adriana on August 7, 2019, 5:49 pm“I think there’s a piece of gum underneath a desk somewhere for you. Teacher’s probably getting worried.” I responded. By now I was getting annoyed. I wasn’t one to pay mind to many people outside of my immediate group. That being myself and Hamilton.
I continued towards my car, my toe tapping a rusty bucket which I stepped over. It was out of place but so was I, and I wasn’t keen on babysitting today.

Quote from Mae on August 7, 2019, 7:44 pmThere was a moment of hesitation, then the woman followed across the gravel. So far, the car was out of her sight. The wheat was too tall in all directions, and the steel garage happened to be on a lower altitude than the road to Pinerich.
"Were you born a hinny, or did someone do something to ya, sugar?"

Quote from Adriana on August 11, 2019, 9:31 pmI was making a steady bee line in the direction of Arcadia. I had to shake this bimb-I mean-floozy-I mean-this Miss Sandy. I was too convincing an actor, as it would turn out.
"I'm real sorry I lead you on doll, but my girlfriend wouldn't appreciate you coming along with me. I think this is where our paths split."
My girlfriend being Miss Clancy, of course. Even whilst I spoke-and walked steadily (that's right, I can do it all)- I was taking a cigarette box out of my back pocket and promptly lighting one with my windproof zippo, hoping the smell of tobacco smoke would be off putting to Goldilocks. I could see the glint of Arcadia's sleek black body through the wheat. Now there was a sight for sore eyes.

Quote from Indy on August 12, 2019, 12:11 amThe wheat shifted and swayed, as wheat is want to do in a soft breeze. Nothing of it seemed amiss -- it was but a massive, golden sea, with hopeful refuge at the other side of it's razor-sharp kernels. If the wind blew across it too harshly, their golden heads would knock about noisily, as if judgmentally discussing their unwilling guests.
Only one strange detail was to be of remark: a sudden crack beneath the uneven sea! Yet the moment alarm might be raised, the hindquarters of a rabbit might just be seen beneath if one looked the right away. It paused a half moment some paces away, its little nose quivering madly and its dark eyes faintly bulging. Then the poor, pitiful creature dashed away into obscurity once more.

Quote from Mae on August 12, 2019, 10:53 pm"Sorry to disappoint you, sugar, but I'm not leaving your side til I get what I came for."
I grew up around tobacco smoke. I also grew up around liars. Neither one bugged me. The only thing that continued to get on my nerves was this guy's lackadaisical attitude and the trail of chaos he left in his wake. There was no way this was the high-end Baltronan spy I thought he was. Nothing about the man was subtle. He broke down two doors, and was now lighting a cigarette in a ripe wheat field.
"Just give it time." I reminded myself coolly in my own mind. "Just wait til the sparks show. You gotta have patience."
Patience? It was my weakest strength. Both my brothers were boxers, and I knew when the gloves came off it was bound to get dirty. But I could wait a little longer, that's why I brought my A-game along."Hey!" I called out, getting scratched in the face by all the wheat the man had closing in behind him. "My name's Tiffany, by the way. What's yours?"

Quote from Adriana on August 13, 2019, 9:55 pmI inhaled a long drag and released it slowly, trying to calm my nerves. I couldn't tell you why her existence was grating. Maybe it was the lack of food. The sense that I wasn't making as much progress as I'd hoped, and that the day was beginning to wear on. Maybe it was the fact I'd only ticked off two locations on the map and each one, while it gave me some vague insight to the Reknab Bend werewolf hunters, provided little else. It was about three o'clock in the afternoon and I'd only found two of the several marked locations. Maybe it was just the fact her name was Tiffany and I couldn't even utter it because of it's sheer predictability. She looked like a Tiffany. That annoyed me.
I came up to my car and opened the driver door, leaned an arm in and put the cigarette out in the ash tray, before carelessly chucking the towel in the passenger seat. I turned and positioned myself against the frame of my vehicle, resting one arm on the top of the door and the other on the hood while facing Ginger. No... not Ginger...
"Sorry Shirley, I'm not at liberty to say. You'll have to contact my secretary, Mr. Hamilton. He's available 24/7, 365. Do be careful not to contract the Bourbonic Plague. At this present time I can attest he is rabies free. Now run along."
I gave her a two fingered salute and slid into the drivers seat, ready to leave the same way I came.
