Hey y’all, we’re back! 83
So what happened was I was trying to make it so our profile pages respond to html we put into our Bios. A couple of plugins did that great on the WordPress side. Unfortunately, Asgaros (our forum) still had some html filters on their end, so it didn’t matter how pretty the WordPress file looked, it was all gobblydeegook on the forum profile.
I figured out what I needed to fix to change that, but, uh, I missed a closing tag… and then I hit save… and the website had a heartattack and perished. Oops. Big oops. Sorry oops. Plz-come-back-baby oops.
Anyway, the support at EasyWP deactivated the plugin on their side, I was able to get back in, and here were are. Balance restored.
What have we learned, my dear children?
Backups.
Always backups.
I have started backing the site up every week. If due to unforeseeable events I should press the big red button with my elbow again, should there be another dare-I-say-it Oops, I should be able to get the site back up a lot faster now.
…So that’s how that happened.
